Fine Antique Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Octagonal Occasional Table (c. 1900)
An elegant and fine-quality Edwardian mahogany octagonal occasional table, dating from the turn of the 20th century (circa 1900–1910).
This classic English antique piece perfectly encapsulates the refined craftsmanship and lightness of design characteristic of the Edwardian era.
The table features an attractive octagonal top displaying a beautifully figured mahogany grain, highlighted by delicate geometric cross-banded borders and fine satinwood stringing. At the absolute centre is a striking, intricately inlaid satinwood sunburst (fan) marquetry medallion.
The top is raised on four slender, elegant square-tapered legs that terminate in a slight flare. The legs support a highly decorative lower undertier with sweeping, concave-shaped edges, finished with matching inlaid stringing. This lower shelf provides excellent stability while adding extra storage or display space.
A characterful accent piece well suited for period drama set dressing, boutique retail display, or vintage-inspired hospitality interiors.
